Dear 4th and 5th Grade Families,
Due to a sewer issue in the 4th and 5th grade classroom wing at Richard Mann Elementary, we have evacuated our 4th and 5th grade students from their classrooms. At this time they are able to remain in school, however, we have relocated them to other areas of the building for the remainder of the school day today.
At approximately 10am this morning a sewer issue was reported at the elementary school. The situation is only impacting the 4th and 5th grade wing. For sanitary reasons, all students and staff in that wing were relocated. A restoration and cleaning company will be onsite this afternoon for cleaning and sanitation. We anticipate 4th and 5th grade students will not be in their classrooms tomorrow, Thursday, May 18. We will reassess the situation tomorrow morning. Again, this only impacts our students in 4th and 5th grade.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please reach out to the elementary office at 315-986-3521 ext. 81511.
Thank you,
Shawn Van Scoy, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools
